I do have 2 mini comics ready to print (“Loud & Queer” which is most of the early queer stuff, and the autobio “Three’s Company” which I did this spring), I haven’t set anything up through paypal or anything like that (I…should) but do shoot me an email at kfunkcomics@gmail.com and we’ll figure it out! Thanks dude!

thanks for the rad question!
I draw with pencil onto brisol, then I ink by hand. I mostly use Faber-Castell pens right now, though I sometimes use other brush pens. Then I scan everything, and edit the images in Photoshop CS5. I also have a small Wacom tablet, so sometimes I do things straight into Photoshop. I always play with the contrast and darkness of the image, erase any traces of the paper and make sure the lines are super dark.

I’m totally stoked that something I made has opened up a fairly broad discussion. Even if that discussion includes telling me to suck a dick, or to fuck myself with an iron spike. Really, that’s super productive, thank you.
My intent WAS NOT to say that all gay men have the same access to privilege, in fact it was basically the opposite of that. I was SPECIFICALLY citing Dan Savage’s video with the Babies/Europe line (and also assimilation/homonormativity that only benefits VERY specific people, but WHATEVER), and HIS assumption that all these things and more are available to ALL queer people everywhere, if they’d just not kill themselves long enough to graduate high school. I found his project very silencing and not at all focused on the fact that it does not just get better for everyone, we have to make it better. And we have to make it better NOW, not in this mythical future in which homophobia doesn’t exist outside of high school.
OF COURSE I do not think that someone telling kids not to kill themselves is a bad thing. And some of the videos submitted to the project were great, Kate Bornstein’s particularly comes to mind.
And LOL to the privilege denying dudes. I’m not using your privilege to discredit anything you have to say. But when you say “I HAVE BAD DAYS TOO,” the fact is that your bad days probably have nothing to do with your race or gender. And saying that “MY BOSS IS BLACK AND MY SUPERVISOR IS A WOMAN” is pretty much like saying “BUT I HAVE BLACK FRIENDS!”
In sum: If some fucking comic on tumblr is “THE WORST THING [YOU’VE] EVER SEEN IN [YOUR] LIFE” then shit, you’re fucking lucky, asshole.
Ahaha thanks, Helios!
